EXPERT WITNESS SERVICES
Dr. Luke Maj serves as a medical expert witness in legal cases involving all aspects of the subspecialty of Phlebology (vein care).
Because Dr. Maj's clinical practice has focused almost exclusively on Phlebology over nearly a decade, he no longer reviews legal cases in the field of Radiology, with the exception of radiology studies that involve the diagnosis and treatment of vein disease such as ultrasound, CT, fluoroscopy, etc.
Dr Maj's role as a medical expert includes reviewing medical records from the hospital and physician’s office and to render an unbiased opinion as to what transpired. Frequently attorneys and patients have specific questions regarding various aspects of the case which due to complex medical terminology and decision making is at times difficult to understand.
Dr. Maj reviews cases for both plaintiffs and defendant physicians. He places himself in the position of the treating physicians as well as the the patient receiving the treatment to understand the entire multidimensional picture of the clinical treatment and decision making that took place.
As a medical expert witness, Dr. Maj assists in determining and explaining what the standard of care is in a particular case or situation which helps to ultimately define if that standard of care was or was not met. When evaluating cases, Dr. Maj evaluates the case for medical merit to determine if and which practitioner, practitioners or ancillary providers may have performed below the standard of care to identify the appropriate defendant.
During the initial free evaluation Dr. Maj will obtain general information from the legal counsel in regards to the known facts about the case and make a determination if the case will be accepted for full review.
The geographical range of Dr. Maj's testimony extends across the entire United States including Hawaii, Alaska and its territories. Dr. Maj is willing to travel for live depositions and in court appearances.
